ويتركز تصميم هذا المسجد على تهيئة جو مفتوح يسمح باجتماع المصلين والزوار.
ويجسد هذا المسجد أيضاً فكرة احتضان كل من الجديد والقديم في جسد واحد، ويتم الاحتفاظ بعناصر من الماضي فيه، مثل المئذنة والقبة وقاعة الصلاة الرئيسية.
